To make a similar christmas tree toys, we need a crumpled packing paper (not too rough and not too thin), which we mix with a glue (10% glutinous size) and a little bit of a mineral oil. Sculpt the shape while covering with layers of glued paper.

After that make a little holes for a wire, which will serve as a foundation for ears, feet and tails. Cover with a glued cotton wool (don’t forget to dry the surface between steps). Finally dip into the weak solution of acrylic paint.

Sculpt the mask, then smooth it out or sand depending on what material you are using. The mask is best to be made of self-drying plastics or dough. Pad the mask with white acrylic paint and use other colors to paint it. As an option you can use matted varnish on a painted mask.
